Electrolytic Oxidation of Aluminium (El Ox Al)

Through the process of anodizing, aluminium becomes anti-corrosive and also gives protective coating. An oxide coating is transferred in and onto the material. Not only do we offer a neutral transparent oxide coating, but also in various colors i.e. black, gold, silver, brass, red, green, blue, violet and stainless steel.

Machinery parts, motorbike and bicycle parts, boat fixtures, handles, furniture fittings etc.

Anodizing aluminium is highly suitable to produce durable and weather resistant signs with high quality markings for interior and exterior use.

Anodizing

The result depends on the alloy of the aluminium used. The pretreatment of the aluminium also contributes to the visual result. Please contact us for guidance on the pre-treatment procedures.

A pretreatment can compensate an uneven surface without leaving further damages.

Please remember the accurate fit: By removing some of the surface layer, joints and threads may not stay accurate to size. Therefore, all joints and threads should be covered or filled prior or the anodizing process with a special varnish.

• areas of application: mechanical bearings and rolling etc.

Colors and Variations

Prior to the final stage of the thermal coating of the surface, the anodized aluminium can be dyed in a desired color, i.e. black gold, silver, brass, stainless steel, red, green, blue, orange, pink and violet. By changing the timing of the dye process and depending on the alloy of the aluminium, we are also able to vary the shading of the individual color.

Suitable materials will give a radiant high intense color, where ill-suitable materials (with high amount of lead) may leave a more dull color. Most suitable materials for anodizing have a high amount of silicon.

Solid/ hard anodizing

By using low temperatures and through anodic oxidation, we are able to create a very hard coating. The thickness of hard anodized aluminium usually varies between 30 µ and 50 µ, whilst the regular anodizing only achieves a thickness of 8 µ and 20 µ. This process is mainly used for mechanical components, i.e. metal rollers for high abrasion resistance.
